Mourning Geckos are one of the easiest lizards to keep if kept right. Though not very much on being handled due to their size, they are a joy to watch and observe. They can be housed with other mourning geckos and in some cases is known to due well with dart frogs. Mourning geckos are parthenogenic which means they can breed on their own and every offspring is a copy of the mother. When housed together they can chirp and squeak when communicating. Aggression can occur but generally does not result to injury. 

housing & lighting: 

mourning geckos should be in a tall enclosure that is well sealed to keep these escape artists in. A 12x12x18 is ideal for 5-6 adults. 
They will also need an environment suitable for holding high humidity between 70%-80%. Live plants, misting systems, and humidifiers can help. Bioactive is always best for these girls. 

Mourning geckos are from tropical environments and ideally the temperature of their enclosures should be a gradient. Day time temps should be between 77-82 degrees with as low as 72 degrees at night. Do not have the heat go over 85 degrees as this is when they will start to stress. A low wattage UVB should be provided to help with growth and calcium absorption. 

Diet:

mourning geckos are primarily insectivores but on occasion enjoy a powdered gecko fruit mix. Our girls prefer the banana or mango flavors best. 
They can be fed flightless fruit flies and small crickets 1/8 in length. (Depending on the size of the gecko). 
Make sure to occasionally dust your insects with calcium and vitamins for best results.

FrogTown exclusively ships animals overnight via UPS. We advise all animals be shipped to a local UPS facility. Our shipping days are Monday and Tuesday. These days may be delayed at our discretion depending on adverse weather conditions in the shipping or receiving area. Shipping costs are non-refundable. FrogTown is not liable for delays in shipping once it has reached the courier. The customer is responsible for being available to receive or pickup package on scheduled delivery day. The customer is responsible for notifying FrogTown of any deaths. All deaths must be reported within 2 hours of delivery time with video evidence. We will not accept photos.
